“The music in the room at the time of my visit was taken care of by a very special set. Both the amplifier and CD-player were by the for me until then unknown make Artora, a Danish make that spent three years developing some very special products. The amplifier, ArtoAmp 150, is a very compact (30x30x6cm) box not in any way resembling an amplifier. There are no visible buttons. The control is entirely done through the on top mentioned company philosophy: “less is more”. “Less” meaning literally less volume, and “More” being louder. “Is” choses the mode. The buttons are touch sensitive: it’s enough to touch them, there is no tactile feedback. Another remarkable feature of this bright device is that the connection to the source is done using Bluetooth. There are 16 wireless channels available. There are three wired sources available. The 75 available watts are sufficient to drive a wide range of speakers, and the Revel-speakers used in this demo were handled flawlessly…”

” The CD-player used, the ArtoPlayer 1000, at first looks like the twin brother of the amplifier by the lack of clear external markings. The device is controlled with the same “buttons” on top, where – not wholly unexpected – “less” selects the previous song and “more” the next song. The Burr-Brown DACS guarantee a high quality output. Both devices are remotely controlled by an equally minimalistic remote with only 8 “buttons”, among which the company logo, that don’t protrude at all. The system looks very sober and cool and is a visual and auditive plus to all who like modern design. The company also has available a component, the ArtoAir, that plugs into the iPod’s connector and gives the Bluetooth-connection needed to connect to the amplifier. As is often the case in these setups it was very difficult to asses the quality because of the positioning and room parameters, but the system is very well worth an audition in more optimal circumstances.”
